Challenge

Russell Roof Tiles supplied 200,000 Highland roof tiles in cottage red to help refurbish and reroof Ashfield District Councils’ current housing stock in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

The re-roofing project was part of a £30million five-year housing scheme which will provide improvements to properties within Ashfield District Council’s housing stock with around 6,800 requiring improvement works.

Solution

Russell Roof Tiles worked closely with construction services company J Tomlinson Limited and Avonside Group.

The concrete roof tiles were chosen to reflect the local tiles in the area while ensuring the sustainable benefits of a concrete tile. They are part of Russell Roof Tiles’ commercial range, providing a traditional concrete flat roof tile with a mock joint, which gives the appearance of small slates or tiles when they are laid broken bonded.
