Challenge

Russell Roof Tiles supplied Galloway tiles on a total of 32 affordable new build homes.The homes were designed in line with the Homes and Communities Agency’s Design and Quality Standards achieving the equivalent of Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes delivering high levels of energy efficiency.

Solution

Russells provided 20,000 Galloway tiles in Rustic Peat and Slate Grey. Galloway is a thinner leading-edge interlocking roof tile which gives a slate appearance when laid half broken bonded

Result

The Galloway was chosen because its appearance is in keeping with the slate roofs characteristic in the area while it also delivers the sustainable benefits of a concrete tile.

The project includes a mix of one and two-bedroom flats and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
