Pioneering pitched roof manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles has presented three dedicated employees at its Burton site– who have a combined service of 70 years – with Long Service Awards.
Designed to recognise the loyalty of hardworking employees who have seen the business grow over the years, Russells’ Long Service Awards celebrate the dedication and commitment of those who have been with the company for more than 10 years.
The deserving staff who have been awarded the accolades include David Lancaster, (Business Development Manager for the Northern region) for 30 years – whose wife Rachael received the award on his behalf, Caroline Westwood (Customer Service Adviser) and Paul Erskine (Works Manager) – who have both worked at Russells for 20 years.
The three, who work cross Russell Roof Tiles’ two sites on Nicolson Way and Wetmore Lane in Burton on Trent were presented with specially designed tile shaped awards by Russells’ Managing Director, Andrew Hayward. In addition to the awards, they also receive long service benefits including additional days of annual leave and a cash bonus.
Russells, who were awarded Employer of the Year has a range of initiatives to reward its 180 hardworking staff including a dedicated training centre. The firm is committed to helping to develop and maintain skills in the construction industry, and this year introduced an Employee of the Quarter scheme. Impressively, Caroline Westwood has also previously won the Employee of the Quarter award after being nominated by fellow colleagues for her outstanding service.
Andrew Hayward commented: “It’s great to be able to recognise the team with these Long Service Awards. We launched the awards scheme in our half-centenary in 2015 and are keen to celebrate our staff’s successes and achievements.”
The Russell Roof Tiles Long Service Awards are presented to employees after 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years. Andrew continued: “This year alone we have presented Long Service Awards to six employees across our two sites and we look forward to awarding many more to our committed workforce.”
The awards come at a busy time for the leading roofing manufacturer. Russells’ tiles and accessories are in demand by the UK’s top house builders and high profile social housing and commercial projects.
